Wednesday Walkers

Wednesday Walkers meet every other Wednesday afternoon during the spring to autumn months weather permitting. There are usually 9 or 10 of us travelling to the appointed meeting place to begin our walk. Lifts are available where needed. We have been on local walks to Cannock Chase, Shoal Hill, Brewood and Lichfield and a wet walk along the canal, probably best forgotten!

We’ve even ventured further afield to National Trust places including Attingham House and Park. We always make sure the walks are generally flat and suitable for most abilities though some have had to revue their foot wear. We really appreciate the lovely countryside so near to our homes and seeing new places not explored before is a real treat.

Our walks usually end at a café or pub for a drink and it has been known that they start with a coffee and cream scone. The talk often explores our hopes and concerns for what’s going on in our country, the world today and Bethany, our desire to spread God’s love to Chadsmoor and beyond, and discussion on how we can help make this happen. One such sunny afternoon the plans were hatched for the beautiful white strings of angels which decorated our church last Christmas and will again this year if Stephen can find them .

Those of us who live alone really value this opportunity to walk safely and enjoy friendship. A warm welcome is waiting for anyone young or old to join us whether they’re a member of our fellowship or not. If you would like to join us please just let us know and we’ll get in touch. You can call us on 01543 504292 or just go to the ‘Contact Us’ folder and drop us an email.
